About the Children’s Advocacy Council

The Children’s Advocacy Council brings together the passion and philanthropic power of child advocates, nonprofit professionals, government employees, and business and community leaders to prioritize the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. As members and advocates, the Children’s Advocacy Council helps shape public opinion that directly impacts the safety and well-being of Colorado’s most vulnerable children.
Children’s Advocacy Council ambassadors are encouraged to pledge to spend 25 hours or more, annually, learning about the issues, advocating for all of Colorado’s most vulnerable children or volunteering at Tennyson Center for Children.

What does the Children’s Advocacy Council do?
• Meets monthly to discuss and inform pending legislation and initiatives

• Engage and organize your friends, family and co-workers to make a difference for Colorado’s abused and neglected children
• Get active on social media and email!
• Help us create new opportunities to raise awareness
• Vote for kids! Contact your elected officials on both sides of the isle.
• Volunteer organizing advocacy events or as a Tennyson volunteer
• Take on special advocacy projects in support of the Office of Strategic Initiatives
• Create smart public policy and systemic reforms
