Volunteers play a critical role in the care and treatment of the children at Tennyson Center.  As a volunteer, you can be a mentor for one child or spend time on a regular basis with a cottage or classroom.  Or you might be more interested in helping out around Tennyson Center in a different capacity.  To learn more about volunteering or to become a volunteer, plan on attending a Volunteer Training, which is held at Tennyson Center once every month.  You need to only attend one training.

Our corps of volunteers is one of our most valuable assets at Tennyson Center for Children. Last year, over 1,500 volunteers donated more than 14,000 hours in a variety of capacities including reading to the children, assisting teachers in the classrooms, assisting with event planning and mentoring a child. We can never have enough volunteers and opportunities are always available for qualified individuals or groups who would like to donate their time.

For information on volunteering opportunities, click on the appropriate category in the left navigation bar or contact Cindy McKinney at 720-855-3421.

Mary Goodson is more than a familiar face around the campus of Tennyson Center for Children. For the past 2 years, Mary has been volunteering in a variety of capacities ranging from teacher's assistant, to office and administration tasks to mentoring a child. She was a treasured member of the 2005 Operation Santa team and has spent countless hours helping to plan and coordinate events such as the 2005 Santa Shop as well as the Red Lion Run Car Show, benefiting Tennyson Center for Children. On occasion, her son Jared---who has his mom's energy and dedication---can also be found helping out. We are in awe of her energetic spirit and her "can-do" attitude...and we are proud to have Mary Goodson as a member of our family.
