Stuff-the-bus
The name of this program goes back to the days (many, many years ago) when, with the help of our generous donors, we would literally stuff a school bus with “wish-list” items from our educational staff. Although we no longer actually pack a bus full of items, this wonderful program still helps to keep our classrooms stocked with school supplies including books, backpacks, educational software programs and other items which are essential to the academic success of the children in our care. But the only way we can continue to ensure our teachers and students have the items necessary to ensure a quality education is with YOUR support.
Back-to-School Shopping Spree
Back to School shopping spree takes place one Saturday morning in August, when our kids in our residential treatment and Stepping Stones programs can take part in the American ritual of back-to-school shopping, many of them for the first time in their lives. As you can imagine, our boys and girls look forward to this day with anticipation. It’s a chance for them to feel like other kids---kids who have never had to deal with the pain of a life filled with crisis and trauma. So many of these children have never had new clothes; they’ve never experienced the American ritual of back-to-school shopping.
Your support of programs like Back to School shopping spree and Stuff-the-Bus serves as a reminder to these kids that someone truly cares about them---someone they’ve never even met. And what a powerful message that is for children like these! With a cash donation, your dollars will benefit the children we serve with clothing, shoes, food, school supplies, general supplies and other necessities that help these kids on their path to healing.
