Abused Kids Benefit from Summer Quilt Sale
Each year, the Quilt Sales at Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home, helps raise the necessary funds needed for direct support of the abused, neglcted, and at-risk children in our care. Started in the early 1970’s, a group of dedicated volunteers took donated quilts to charity bazaars and craft fairs where the sales of these beautiful quilts not only added to the much needed funding for the children, but also helped to publicize the work of Colorado Christian Home. These wonderful volunteers are still active with the Quilt Sales to this day.
Now housed at Tennyson Center for Children's library, the sales have developed a loyal following over the years. Customers often come monthly to see the new arrivals. The quilts range in size from crib to king size and come in many different styles. Everything from warm and simple hand-tied patchwork quilts, finely quilted heirloom quality master-pieces to antique tops which have been recently quilted are available. All are wonderfully colorful works of art.
Donations of quilts are accepted year-round. Making a quilt for Tennyson Center for Children can be a fun and fulfilling project for any group. Your donation will be appreciated, admired and used to further the important mission of breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect. If you would like to donate a quilt, please email Nancy Slyter or call her at 720-855-3317.
