Tennyson Center for Children at Colorado Christian Home offers a number of community-based programs to serve children and families. The driving philosophy behind these services is to provide prevention and intervention in the child’s home and/or school to avoid more intensive and restrictive placements. Currently, we are serving nearly 130 children and their families in our off-campus programs.
Our Philosophy
All of our community-based services utilize the family systems approach, focusing on all the whole family and the various systems in which the family interacts. It is our belief that children cannot be treated outside the family and community context. We see families as our partners, not just as clients.
Key practice philosophy utilized in our work include the Principles of Family Support, Postive Behavior Support, Solution-Focused Interventions, Wraparound, and Brief Therapy. We are members of the Child Welfare League of America, Family Support America, and are licensed by the State of Colorado and the Council on Accredidation (COA).
