It is in this spirit of collaboration that Noble Energy is joining forces with Tennyson Center to help fight child abuse.  In an effort to raise awareness of this issue within the business community, it is challenging other businesses to do the same.

Children are our most precious resource. As an oil and gas company, Noble knows all about resources – and it understands that everything else pales in comparison to the importance of protecting our children. To that end, in addition to contributing its own funds to Tennyson Center, Noble invites other corporations to participate in this endeavor by donating as well.

Last year, the Colorado child welfare system received more than 70,000 referrals regarding cases of abuse and neglect.  Of those, 41,000 were confirmed cases of abuse or neglect.  To put this statistic into perspective, that’s enough children to fill 2,100 kindergarten classrooms, 621 school buses or 3,727 soccer teams.  And unfortunately, those numbers tend to go up during tough economic times – as adults struggle to cope with the anxieties and stresses that go along with financial difficulties.  Therefore, it is more important than ever that we join together to ensure that these children – and families – receive the help that they need.
