During our last century of service, Tennyson Center for Children has helped to heal thousands of abused and neglected children, preparing them to realize fulfilling and satisfying lives as adults. Throughout the world, only a handful of children’s organizations have such an impressive record of success as ours. Several key elements are necessary in order to achieve such a record: strategic planning, state-of-the-art facilities, boundless love, care and understanding, an unparalleled staff and, of course, proper funding.
Over the past five years, the cost of many of the services we provide has increased more than 20 percent. Unfortunately over the same period, government funding for the same programs has increased less than 2 percent. Your donation helps bridge the gap and makes it possible for us to continue our day-to-day operations. Additionally, you’ll get the satisfaction of knowing that you’ve made a difference in the lives of countless children.

The following are average costs for caring for ONE CHILD at Tennyson Center for Children:
$1800 per year to feed ONE child three meals a day...
$330 per year to clothe ONE child...
$17,000 per year for room and board of ONE child...
$26,000 per year to educate ONE child...
$62,000 per year for treatment of ONE child...
Multiply those figures by the numbers of children we serve and you can begin to see the expenses involved in the kinds of care we provide. The shortfall in educational funding from the state requires Tennyson Center to raise at least $10,000 in philanthropic dollars per child served to provide a year of specialized education, a desk, counseling and therapy. That's $10,000 per child per year!
